This is why the Amazon Originals shows are so bad these days. I tried to watched a few episodes of Upload. It was terribly depressing, with vapid scenes sprinkled with pious lectures about priviledge that are completely obvious. My eyes rolled and I turned it off......Thank you, Bari, for this very informative article.

Word.

Wokeness is the most visible sign yet of the decline of Western civilization. It is the barbarians on the horizon marching slowly, ignored by all except those in watchtowers raising the alarm but are being ignored, until they have reached the city gates and begin to breach.

Every time I hear some idiotic intersectional "feminist" applaud the use of the word "womxn," I want to ask them why we still see the words "man" and "men." Why do we still hear about fathers and only "birthing parents?" Why did the brand "Always" have to remove the female Venus symbol from its logo, but Gilette is still "the best a man can get?"

Why is it now feminist for women, mothers, and girls to be erased as if the mere words that describe us are obscene, but "mankind" still means all of humanity?

And why the FUCK is this now feminist?!

This diversity nonsense is the precise reason why, when we moved back up here from Brazil years after my kids were born, I made damn sure that their school identified them as Latina or if the only other option was Hispanic, then yeah...they were that. If Elizabeth Warren can be celebrated for being Native American, my Brazilian-born and raised kids to a Brazilian mom can be Latina (never LatinX. My kids aren't that ridiculous.) All of this corporate diversity stuff is a cover. You are right Bari. Keep calling them out. It's like the memes you see of drones dropping bombs painted in rainbow colors. Womyn and other gender and racial minorities: youre being used to sell, dare I say it, imperialism and oppression.

Where do I begin? Reading this article gave me a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. The woke mob's war on liberalism intensifies with Amazon as the useful idiot handmaid.

A few years ago, a friend said she wanted to apply for a part time job at an Amazon warehouse because the hourly wage sounded so good. I had ordered almost everything from Amazon and was one of their best customers. So I promised my friend I'd do some online research for her.

I scoured the internet and was shocked to learn how badly the company treated its warehouse workers. Working at an amazon warehouse was the high tech version of 21st century slavery with people scrambling to meet unreasonable work quotas, dropping dead of heart attacks, and coworkers stepping around fresh corpses on the warehouse floor. The company didn't need whips -- the robots and productivity algorithms squeezed out as much work as possible and then tossed out every human who couldn't keep up.

I warned my friend not to apply, and I stopped buying stuff on Amazon cold turkey. Instead I ordered everything from ebay. But in a few weeks, I discovered that quite a few ebay sellers ordered all their stock from amazon and had each item sent directly to their ebay customers as "gifts." Amazon still got their money, and I paid a higher price. So, I went back to Amazon. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

I'm old enough to remember the golden age of Hollywood in the late 60s and early 70s -- films like Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown, and the Godfather. I've tried to watch new movies. But they virtue signal so aggressively, I switch them off in disgust.

A few years ago, I was happy to find Philip K. Dick's science fiction thriller, The Man in the High Castle on Amazon Prime. I binge watched the first three seasons, and they were great. But when the fourth season came out, it was so loaded with CRT propaganda, I stopped watching after the first half hour. Amazon must haved fire all their old screenwriters and replace them with a squad of Kendi Klones?

The other day, I read about the new movie Karen. It was so bad, it sounded like a comic parody of pure CRT garbage. But it isn't a parody. What's next, the remake of Gone with the Wind -- with Kaitlyn Jenner as Mammy and Scarlett O'Hara played by Laverne Cox? I'm sure Amazon's writers room is hard at work on that intersectional nightmare.

God help us all, we're fucked. Welcome to the end of Western civilization. In a decade or two the Chinese will be picking over the bones of our carcasses while we bemoan the fact that once, 50 years ago, someone called them "Chinks".

Good piece, Bari. It'd be interesting to see you cover the wokification of the military industrial complex next, since that shift appears to be motivated by similar factors. My only quibble with this article is that you should've linked to a website like IndieBound instead of Amazon in your hyperlinks to Ramaswamy's and Ungar-Saryon's books. It did feel a little jarring to see those Amazon links just after you criticized them so sharply, and local book stores are one of our best defenses against Amazon's near-monopoly power in the boom market.

Bari will reliably show up and vote for more wokeness (democrat), just like the ones hear who decry all the wokeness. democrats created this problem and for have the fortitude or principles to fix it.

If you voted for Biden, you voted for all of this. If you vote for almost any democrat in 2024 (maybe with exception of Tulsi) you are voting for more wokeness.

What the woke monkey Hollywood producer, Bezos, Bari, the Iranian actor and the Ivy League wokesters have in common is their absolute voting loyalty to the democrat party.

The only word to describe progressives is one that will evoke shrieks of horror - retardx. [edited so even a prog can understand it.] Not even Orwell could conceive of their vicious vapidity. And don't even try to keep up with their idiotic, even changing terminology.

As far as Bezos is concerned, will anyone mourn if his narcissistic and self-aggrandizing rocket ride turns into a early 1960s Redstone Rocket Reprise? Bezos is a fake who proves every day that those who profess to be "for the people," don't really give a fig for real people, whom they will exploit and extort.

People are fed up. They're fed up with a geyser of fanatacism and wonder whether even this big, generous, open country can sustain it. It sucks up the oxygen for everything and everyone else. It elevates clowns and tries to ignore actual intellects like Glen Laury. If you are a distinct minority of any race that hates everything about this country --its government, its economy, its culture, its founding principals and especially its dominant people, then it's time to leave. Build something, somewhere else. But it's so much more fun, and parasitic, to tear things down.

If I could give free advice to the big corporations, it would be to intelligently navigate the anti-diverse “diversity” mania. Mining companies and basket ball teams could hypothetically be charged with diversity failure (gender and race, respectively). Diversity comes in many forms apart from melanin and genitalia. One would think the PR folks at these corporations would advise against such foolishly sheepish behavior. I am guessing the market response will introduce a mediating effect.

These industries will live to regret this plan. They started this for short term benefits but have failed to see the long term consequences of their actions and how it impacts all parts of our culture. In particular the impact on our educational systems and those systems ability to prepare our children to compete in the global market.

"It is an amazing thing to behold Amazon executives LARP as gender studies majors."

The LARP verb made me laugh aloud. Tragic, but funny. And I truly believe that your approach here, leading with humor, is our best defense (and offense). Keep it up.

"Wokescreen" is the new label we should apply to this fake corporate wokeness.

Bari, Thank you once again. It is only through people like you that I remain hopeful for the future. Thanks for explaining the post-2008 "marriage" between big business and woke. Please keep advising us. I am truly concerned about the future of free speech due to progressive wokes.
