On a 170 million square mile globe, a novel bat coronavirus pops up within miles of where they just happen to be experimenting with bat coronaviruses. Just do the math. What are the chances?

The scientists who wrote the letter that forced the "lab leak HYPOTHESIS" to be re-considered deserve praise. One is very young. Her career may be over. The other is the head of the American lab that does bat virus research. He has worked extensively with the head of the PRC lab. This is what gives the letter force.

On a practical note: the difference between a naturally occurring virus vs the danger of a "gain of function" virus MATTERS to how we conduct science and what needs to be studied. From a science basis: Lab Leak

On a political note: the fright of our 'sense-making class' over offending the GOVERNMENT of the PRC or showing lock-step with it should concern the citizens of the US. The 'sense-making class' is now spinning their decision as preventing anti-asian racism. Being anti-racist doesn't mean to excuse government decisions that may kill people. This is clear.

Our institutions have failed us on this, but at least we have the heroes behind signing the letter. This is not an example of the system is working. This latest attempt to determine truth (a theory) may be still-born.

Wow! What an interview! Bari Weiss, again asking the questions no one else will ask and need to be answered. This was fascinating and it is wonderful America had a strong leader in President Trump. No BS. Doesn’t care much about naysayers, getting what needs to be done, done. I’m so glad America is a strong ally of Israel. And I’m so thankful Trump made the Abraham Accords happen. Hopefully other Arab countries will also have peace treaties with Israel in the future and Iran will stop developing nuclear weapons. This woke social justice warrior narrative has got to go. Tolerance for terrorism and hatred only invites more. Stop coddling and making excuses for terrorists and put your foot down, Americans. No excuses! Never Again!

To be fair, Brett Weinstein and Heather Heying (and others like, Alina Chan) have been talking about the "lab leak" hypothesis of SARS-CoV-2 for many months. Of course, those who had much to lose, career-wise, kept their mouths shut. But, now that Ralph Baric comes around to the plausibility of the "lab leak" hypothesis, it gets pulled out of the dust bin. It was always a reasonable hypothesis that needed investigating.

Hang on a second. If believing that the virus escaped from the lab in Wuhan earns a tin hat, what must believing the CCP party line about a wet market a couple of 3-irons away from a BSL-4 facility merit? Who in their right mind bought the wet market story in the first place and why were people so quick to do so?

Stories about the lab have been circulating since last spring ever since that single source of truth known as the Chinese government blocked the roads and the WHO. It was obvious to anyone who could spell Occam’s Razor with one catch - that you had to be open to blaming someone other than Donald Trump in an election year. Half the country swallowed the Made in China hook and the other half kept their mouth shut, hoping the curiosity of the media would be aroused by the absurdity of the Exotic Diet Theory.

As I have asserted on a previous post, ALWAYS follow the money. ALWAYS ask CUI BONO. At the end of your quest you will find grant money to fund research, Gucci loafer-wearing lobbyists and access to a billion Chinese consumers.

The Chinese aren’t here to make friends. They play to win and they play the long game. They can wait out any politician we elect. They show just enough leg on accessing their domestic market to get myopic Corporate America to build in country and cough up 100 years of intellectual property in 20 yrs. The men who run the country are Riding the Tiger and they will do or say or expose or kill anything or anyone to avoid being eaten and they will justify it in the name of progress for the people. Why anyone takes what they have to say at face value is beyond me. They lie about their GDP for God’s sake. Why would they suddenly find God in the truth of CV-19?

I doubt very much that the NYT staff was “hamstrung”. I think Bari is just being kind. I doubt there is anyone left at the NYT that isn’t in total lockstep with the repressive woke thinking and ergo they don’t need to be hamstrung - they are totally down with hiding information. The narrative, not facts, is what’s most important. Even the WSJ news side hides more information than they print. That’s why open comments on “news” articles are so important. One most often learns more facts from commenters than the journos.

Thank you for bringing this topic up it deserves our full attention. I’m not a medical professional but the way the virus does a search and destroy looking for weaknesses in your body is alarming.

Whether it escaped from a lab in Wuhan with sloppy practices or developed in another way let’s shine a light on it. Everyone who died and their families deserve an answer in a timely manner.

Bari, thank you so much for this interview! Next thing to bring to light is the Election Fraud. Just like the virus it is being suppressed by CCP. We've witnessed a color revolution, we must speak up and fight! They are trying to shut down Arizona Audit - please look into it. Thank you.

An excellent interview. Secretary Pompeo has served our country honorably and well.

This is a serious work of journalism and why I subscribe to this newsletter and do not subscribe to the Washington Post or New York Times. Once upon a time, challenging the status quo was part and parcel of great reporting. Now, to the legacy press, it is verboten. And, I like the term legacy press because, sadly, there is nothing mainstream about the New York Times and Washington Post where ideological purity trumps (excuse the pun) unbiased reporting.

Trump and his administration were consistent and excessive liars. If the lab leak story did not receive due inquiry, it was because of the story's source which had thoroughly self-polluted its believability.

I think everybody agrees that it's worth looking into.

Addressing America’s decline, Pompeo says “good leaders at every level will rise up” and will not let this happen. He’s convinced. Well, the nation is declining where the rubber meets the road, within the four walls where families live. How do you reverse our retreat from the traditional nuclear family? That’s where we build a strong nation. Among blue collar whites, marriage and family isn’t happening. And among blacks, 80% of children are now born out of wedlock. This is devastating. And, frankly, I don’t know how a country recovers when its family model runs into the ditch.

Ask yourself how the so-called fact checking industry thrives attached to a profession that by definition is supposed to fact check before it publishes. The media industry has completely abrogated its responsibility to publish what is knows to be true and has defaulted to publish what it hopes to be true, begrudgingly correcting after the damage has been done.

Partisans play to win and don’t care about the public’s erosion of trust in our institutions. They care about the outcome of an election. The long term cost is the merely the fracturing of our social fabric, a cost not born within the electoral horizon of our policy makers.

Furthermore, social medium platforms which selectively publish third party media have accelerated this fracturing yet who owns this debacle?

Of course, we can always adopt the Chinese media model….
