My first political donation, in my mid 20’s, was to Obama during the primaries. Today at 39 I can admit I was indoctrinated out of grad school. Democrats have been crystal clear they hate children and oppose school choice. I will most likely never vote for another Democrat again. Ever. While we can afford choice for our own children, and have been grateful for their academically elite private, conservative Christian school these last 2 years, Democrats have gone all in on destroying their generation.

It’s not just about the masks. It’s about sexualizing little kids and pushing big pharma subscription plans that are known to cause permanent drops in intelligence (puberty blockers) and create life long health issues (cross-sex hormones) with child sterilization sprinkled on top. It’s about the fact my own mixed race kids don’t exist to them as they push neoracist theories that are based in Democrats centuries old beliefs they literally own the minds of anyone with darker skin. It’s about the lack of expectations that will cost this generation in immeasurable ways. Mostly, it’s about often childless monsters that run school districts and teacher’s unions who cheer destroying other people’s children they see as nonhuman political pawns.

Hell has no fury like an angry mom. There are millions of us. And yes, you are either with us, or against us…… those against us attacked and destroyed a generation of children - we will show them no more mercy than they showed the children whose future they flattened.

Oh please. Yeah, so now they're finally seeing the light. But these are the geniuses who thought it was so cool to elect a senile imbecile to run America that they threw a party. So they tossed out an effective president because he made mean tweets and was the poster boy for "toxic masculinity" whatever the hell that is. And now they're stuck with the leftist scum and deep staters who descended on DC to feed at the trough and make our lives miserable.

Their cute little flirtation with the left nauseates me still. They rail against the dictatorial and mindless edicts from nitwits such as Hochul. Quelle surprise. What do they think the Left is? The Big Lie is still...well, a big lie. Socialism doesn't work. It destroys society. It destroys your soul. It is the essence of the policies they claim to hate. Will they learn anything from this? My hope is that they will, my fear is they won't

Glad these (mostly) white mostly once upon a time leftist women are waking up. But seriously, anyone who voted for Joey depends wasn’t very aware now were they? And to vote for him because Trump was just too icky, well a lot of this is on them.

What we see going on is the left. And anyone who votes for a democrat is to blame. Yes the GOPers are sometimes as bad. But they can be cycled out easily. Democrats are like termites. They burrow in and people are just too stupid or lazy or ignorant to see them for what they really are - fascists and totalitarians. I hope these women prevail. But I hope they don’t slip back if they do.

My husband just walked in and said, “Jamie, read the new Bari Weiss article. This is you!” Unlike the mothers in this essay, I gave up and moved to a rational red state (Utah) where mask mandates are banned. However, I just encouraged a friend who took over my school board seat in suburban Illinois to attend her next meeting maskless. I sure hope she does. If they throw her out, she can thank me for her productive evening. My former school district is still requiring students to mask outside. Obviously, critical thinking skills are not required to work there.

My favorite line from the essay:

Randi Weingarten, who runs one of the most powerful teacher’s unions in the country, “should be put on an island and kept away from people.”

Anyone who watched the Democratic Party applaud the burning of Portland, Minneapolis, Kenosha, etc., who watched the Democratic Party applaud the movement to defund police, who watched the Democratic Party embrace socialism and wokeness, and on and on and on, yet still voted for President Biden, needs to consider what the hell they actually expected from his administration. You are getting exactly what you ordered, the continued attempt to eliminate individual rights and replace them with a state-controlled existence.

Pardon the grammer.

I became a mom during Covid. Recently I was watching a movie that came out in the mid 2010’s. There was a scene where someone goes to a mommy and me class. I actually forgot that those were a thing that had existed. My husband wasn’t allowed to go to any of my prenatal appointments. I was told to be prepared to give birth alone and actually cried with joy when I found out my husband could be there. I had to be induced at 37 weeks due to preclampsia. The only reason I didn’t have to deliver while wearing a mask was because I had puked in 3 masks while laboring. My negative Covid tests or being fully vaxxed wasn’t enough.

People say this won’t affect my daughter too much, she’s only 7 mos old right now. This has already gone on for 2 years, whose to say this won’t keep getting stretched out? She is shocked whenever she sees someone outside has a whole face. I can’t help but think Covid is going to impact children’s Development more than we can guess right now.

I would say I’m a classical liberal. I was hoping Biden would govern as a moderate and have been so disappointed. We’ve allowed for the progressives to take over the party and push insanity. Now the left is accelerating the haves and have nots divide, but if you call them out then you run the risk of being called a racist, ablist, etc. Math is the perfect example. My state of Oregon has announced That advanced math classes will no longer be offered in Public school, which just sounds like an incentive for kids to go to private. And what for? Taking advanced math out of schools under the guise of racial equality is absurd. Why aren’t we focusing on lifting up African Americans that made phenomenal contributions to math such as Katherine Johnson? She would be rolling in her grave at the common talking point from progressives now that BIPOC children are naturally bad at math. Other countries are going to continue to push advanced math in their School, we are just going to farther fall behind. Honestly, I can’t help but wonder if foreign PsyOps campaigns pushed this ridiculous notion for the woke mob to insist on keeping our children back.

The first thing I notice is how diverse - in the best sense of the word - these women are. There has clearly been a remarkable miscalculation by the progressives: they think that immigrants and "people of color" are as innocent of reality as are the Democrat politicians that the Leftists are now driving before them. They are not. They are like everyone else - motivated by their families, not some unattainable Marxist utopian fever-dream.

I predict a political bloodbath in November. As a lifelong hunter who's spent many long days and nights in the mountains of West Virginia, I've learned a few things: be afraid of rattlesnakes, and never get between a bear and her cubs.

Fabulous article! I wondered how long it would take for moms to get fierce. I ❤️ moms and stand with them.

"These women don’t really care about The Big Lie or Russiagate or filibuster reform. They could not care less about Big Abstract Theories Of Government."

As exciting as it is to see diverse mothers coming together over the in person learning/mask issues, it also makes me sad. Why? Because "one issue" Moms/voters are still failing to grasp the bigger picture. Perhaps this is a start (🤞), but until they realize the systemic corruption of our institutions, they will not fix anything. We will still have multiple institutions creating false narratives that are reinforced by a biased media and enforced by corporations who think nothing of censoring/canceling those who don't tow the line. These women need to recognize and care about all of the lies; they need to care about "Abstract Theories Of Government", because theories won't matter when our only choice is a totalitarian regime.

I wonder where their voices have been for two years. It was apparent that the school policies were incredibly harmful from the beginning, yet seemed to be accepted without question at the time. Better now than never I guess, and hopefully this will turn the tide against the indoctrinating versus teaching trend that's infected our schools for the last 30 years.

Oh, Bari, I'm disappointed again. I want to like your content, but the past several posts I've read on your Substack have been low-content and poorly argued tribalism. This piece, for example: wealthy moms want... what? For their kids to go to school? So do we all. First we have a paragraph fangirling about Maron's large, expensive Soho apartment. Her husband works in private equity. I bet he does. Who else could afford that kind of apartment. Then I read that Burns is running against the Establishment, only to read later that she put up $250,000 of her own money towards her campaign that she will likely lose (according to this very article she describes her decision to run as "rash"). She has an extra $250,000 to burn?! I am never going to relate to the false Quixotic narrative of these moms as underdogs fighting against the elite. They ARE the elite. They have expensive homes, lots of money, and they just want power like anyone else does. What do they stand for? What are their policy positions that will benefit anyone but themselves? Steinkamp sounds inarticulate. "I don’t care if they’re teaching ‘Kite Runner.’ I just want to know what the kids are reading.” -- Those sentences mean opposite things. She wants to know what the kids are reading, so if they're reading Kite Runner, then she does care that they're reading it. I can't see that these women stand for anything. Tired of COVID? So are we all. How are they leaders? Either these are just wealthy women who want their share of power, or if they do stand for a cause worthwhile, this article is so poorly written that it utterly failed to communicate what that might be. The difference between you and Andrew Sullivan is that he writes coherent intellectual arguments which, even if they fail to persuade me, educate me. Your writing and the writing that you host is the majority of the time just more culture war dreck -- and elitist at that.

"...the only thing they really care about is what works. What is actually happening in the real world. What is being done to their children. And they are willing to vote for whoever can actually bring a return to normal."

Because the man endured more hate and vitriol than a honey badger sticking his head in a bee's nest I feel compelled to remind that Trump DID attempt to put kids first on several occasions and was drowned out by democrat governors and federal bureaucrats - financially compromised Tony Fauci - including the all-powerful democrat teachers unions. Fauci has over 1,200 pages of 'conflict of interest' disclosures with the NIH...

This article simply gives me joy as fine American ladies and mothers are finally taking a lead. Bill of Rights is all we need...

When it affects their children they finally react. Bravo. No problem when the IRS targets conservative organizations. No problem when the security state creates a hoax and interferes with an election and an administration. No problem when an election is rigged.

I’m glad these women are finally waking up but I do not trust them to dig in for the long term difficult job of cleaning out the Augean stables that is Washington DC.

Finally, after over 15 years of advocating for a third party to anyone who would listen, I may be witnessing its creation. I call it The Centrist Party. Our slogan: socially conscious, fiscally responsible. For those who think democracy is dead, this is democracy in action. Power to the people!

Some of you are pretty rough on these women. OK, maybe they're late to your realization that progressivism is ultimately national suicide. But we're all on our own journey with our own unique constraints and inputs. Share and celebrate the common ground we have around this issue of children's welfare, extend a hand, and respectfully engage in the broader dialogues we all want to have.

Nice writing Suzy

From VA, where we have the same Moms:

!Yes, progressivism has become not just unrecognizable, but grotesque.

“My party, which was about inclusivity and equity, was now about vaccine passports,” Nichols tells me. “They went off the rails.”

Honey, the party was never about inclusivity and equity. And Randi Weingarten’s cabal was never about protecting or advancing the interests of children.
