The whole "gay" brouhaha is a great example of how liberals will happily discard their critical faculties when the political circumstances call for it. These are the people who've ushered in public excommunication, overtly racialized entertainment, segregated classrooms, the literal erasure of history, etc....and they're losing their minds because some folks down South don't want their prepubescent kids being assigned "Call Me By Your Name" as a book report.

Kim Strassel of the WSJ, today’s editorial, explains that Biden’s sanctions on Russia don’t kick in until June. Biden is also resisting other efforts to sanction the oligarchs. Yet he and his babysitters stand before us, thumping their chests about how we are tough on Putin.

Kamala giggled while talking about refugees. What is wrong with her? Hasn’t she been media trained? Guess it didn’t stick. She is an embarrassment to America. To those advocating diversity hiring, she is your poster child.

Gas topped $6 in California and in my home state gas is over $4. It was $1.99 under Trump. The admin thinks landscapers should buy electric trucks.

Food prices are unbelievable. Don’t know how your average family is making ends meet. Credit card debt?

When have Americans ever been inflicted with such pain and embarrassment by a President? When have we felt so dismissed and offended and lied to by the President? Not even Carter was this bad.

Read the Florida bill, as amended and passed on March 8, 2022. The enacted language does not even contain the words “gay” or “discussion.” The paragraph on “classroom instruction” says:

“Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2022/1557/BillText/c2/PDF

(Note: the bill's enacted language is the underlined material.)

In other words, nobody is prevented from talking about their own families, or having casual conversation in class. Formal instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity, however, beginning after the third grade, should be age-appropriate LIKE EVERY OTHER sex ed class, ever.

If trans activists had not overplayed their hand, this bill would not have been necessary. Its a damn shame the phrase “sexual orientation” is even joined here with “gender identity,” because the two concepts are completely unrelated.

I don’t believe that most gay people want kids from k-3rd grade to be introduced to gender and sexual issues, just as I don’t believe that most pro-life people want to ban abortions of ectopic pregnancies and let the mothers die. This is the problem now. Common sense is gone from the extremists with the biggest mouths. They do nothing to further their cause when they go bat shit crazy.

“there is a tendency among students to self-censor their opinions for fear of social backlash”

I must reiterate how cancel culture works exactly like my plan to eliminate graffiti by punishing it with the death penalty. This would absolutely end graffiti and you’d only have to kill a couple of guys.

This is why I want to slap Democrats who argue citing the relatively limited number (not really) of serious instances of cancellation. Yeah. You only have to hang a couple guys from the overpass before the entire village gets the message.

This Russian cancellation is reminiscent of virtue signaling after George Floyd, when everyone had to show their antiracist bonafides.

Where are the adults? Why is it so hard for humans to be rational to realize that a 20 year old Russian piano prodigy or an adaptation of Tolstoy has ZERO to do with the Ukrainian invasion? Are we children?

I imagine this "backlash" is probably one or two people. The same people that freaked out in summer 2020 for any perceived racism.

There seems no rejoinder to the fact that most of the bad news and true insanity commented on in Nellie's review is the product of the policies crammed down on America by the left. What I do find lamentable but ultimately might be a glimmer of hope is seen in the mocking by elitist punks such as Colbert of the pain that average working Americans are enduring as food and gasoline prices surge. This might be funny to them but they may stop laughing soon as the "eat the rich" mantra looks increasingly more appealing to struggling Americans who find their struggles the object of mirth. Or faux political claims that pain at the pump is the price of freedom. Nonsense. Biden's energy policies are the wages of serfdom.

I look forward to YOUR substack each Friday. You may want to look at the motivations of teaching 3 to 7 year old about sexual orientation again. Why would any parent want any other person to teach their child, at those ages, about sex? Frankly, the age range should have been extended to at least 12 year olds. What happened to teaching children to read, write and count? No wonder children are doing so poorly. The focus has shifted from basic education to high intensity social/political issues.

The Missouri bill looks insane and I want to strangle Republicans who do this crap because they clearly do not understand the actual threat at the moment and they are helping Democrats which is inexcusable.

It is really a shame that those on the Left seem hell-bent on alienating those of us in the center.

• The theme that runs thru the entire "Don't Say Gay" bill is not anti-gay or even anti-trans. The bill is all about parental involvement in and information about their child's education.

• Enabling accused murderers to get back out on the streets - twice.

• And the whole idiocy of putting those who have committed crimes against women in women's prisons.

And Nellie - you're doing an outstanding job! Tell your Bari to give you a raise.

"The right has fully lost the messaging battle here." The upcoming 2022 elections will show that despite the best efforts of MSM to straw man this issue, the "right" has brought receipts. I was a school teacher and know for a fact there is massive LGBTQ grooming in public schools but no one has to take my word for it because Libs Of TikTok has posted the videos and screenshots of the groomers. Don't tell us this is not happening or that opposition to adults leveraging the state to sexually indoctrinate children is based in "homophobia". There is absolutely no reason public school teachers should be water boarding children with the gender unicorn. This is straight up child abuse. We can see from statistics the number of children identifying as non-binary and trans has skyrocketed. The trans/non-binary trend is based in homophobia and overt sexism as it erases lesbians and women completely and just transitions kids who think they might be gay.

In my former life as a radiologist, I diagnosed more than a few ectopic pregnancies. That there exists any law forbidding its removal only shows how ignorant and dangerous is that particular legislature. Ectopics are a) 100% non-viable; it is impossible for the fetus to develop in the fallopian tube, and b) nearly always fatal to the woman, and I mean RIGHT NOW, when they rupture. And they will rupture. It is a medical emergency of the highest order.

I remember grade school vividly; as farm kids we knew where foals, calves, piglets, and babies come from, but the process of impregnation was a complete mystery to us. The discussion was always the same: "I know it's necessary, but why would anybody want to do that?" I really don't see the purpose of teaching babies who lack the hormonal drives to understand sexual activity all about the "varieties" of sexual expression. There is a time and a place for everything. Perhaps the government schools could use the time they are pissing away to teach some math, science, and English.

"Used Cars +41%. Gasoline +38%. Hotels +29%. Furniture +17%. Chicken +13%. New cars and trucks: +12%. Baby food +8%.."

Yet inflation remains "only" 7.9%. They missed rent/housing. Serious question...what is the stuff that has increased far less than 8% that brings the overall inflation rate to 8%.?

The trend to boycott all things Russian confirms that people are dumb, by which I mean, in this instance, incapable of nuanced thought. It began with the plan to deter Putin by “sanctioning” the oligarchs who prop him up, the idea being that freezing their accounts and seizing their yachts would motivate them to get Putin to back off. Then people, sheep-like, lacking their own ability to freeze a Russian’s bank account, decided they could deter Putin by refusing to drink Russian vodka or attend a Rachmaninov concert. Thus do people allow themselves to feel virtuous by “supporting Ukraine,” but it makes much sense as blaming all Muslims for the 9/11 attack.

See what I mean by the absence of nuanced thinking? Unfortunately, it thrives and drives policy in many areas of public discourse.

One of my sister in laws is from Russia. At home she exclusively speaks Russian with her kids. I was over at their house once when my nephew, then 6, came home sobbing because he was bullied at school for having a slight accent. I was shocked at times I was out shopping or grabbing lunch with my SIL and saw how rude some people were to her once they found out she was Russian. This was well before the Ukrainian invasion. Nevermind that she is vocally against Putin or supports Ukraine. People found out she’s from Moscow and most Americans treat her as a social leper.

The ectopic pregnancy being included in the abortion bill is just cruel. That is lifesaving medically treatment. I have a friend that was desperately trying to conceive. She unfortunately had an ectopic pregnancy after years of already trying. A few years ago, a couple of politicians in Ohio claimed that ectopic pregnancies could be made viable by simply reimplanting. A dr later gave an interview How he had previous patients calling in hysterics wanting to know why they weren’t given that option. He had to explain that was tried in the 80’s and miserably failed. This isn’t some trivial matter. It’s incredibly painful for people that have had to end wanted pregnancies.
