Let’s dispense with the pretense that these folks are motivated by pro Palestine or even anti Israel instincts. These are garden variety anarchists who have latched onto a cause and seem to be well funded and well organized.

The distinction is important because no amount of criticism of Netanyahu, enforced restraint on the IDF or insistence that Israel provide more humanitarian aid will pacify this mob. The war could end today and these folks wouldn’t care.

Appeasing them is as useful as appeasing the hordes of zombies in the Walking Dead.

I mean... At least they are taking proper Covid precautions... This actually makes me sick to see. I would be already looking for another job if I were a police officer in Chicago. The police will be in my prayers.

Simple solution, Chicago: Pull back 100%. No policing. No security. No oversight. Let the mayhem unfold unabated. Don't even go pick up the bodies. Let these people show the world plainly what they think America should look like

Credit where it's due—the radicals sure know how to throw down a protest, down to the exact number of porta potties. I'd almost be inspired by their dedication to their cause if they weren't, ya know, psychotic or causing so much disruption in my hometown.

I can't believe I am being pushed into the arms of Trump. But there it is.

All this activity costs money. Who provides it?

It's just theater at this point. They know the police won't respond because the city won't back the police. The media can be counted on to hide the most offensive behavior because they don't want to harm Biden's chances.

It's certainly not authentic protest - most of Biden's staff support their positions anyway. They just want to preen and pretend they're revolutionaries, and perhaps cause some property damage and loot the Michigan Mile storefronts with owners too naive to know what's coming.

This is about as far from 1968's protests as one can get.

What we need a is a thorough 'follow the money' investigation into who is financing all of this. I know a thing or two about leftism and if there is one thing they love more than their own mothers is money they haven't worked for. NGO's are the umbilical cord that we need to cut.

OMG, I didn't realize the Dems are having their convention in Chicago. That is so karmic! It fits in well with theories of societal cycles. Fourth Turning, anyone?

Sadly, I predict a substantial casualty count, as the Windy City is under-policed and already chaotic. Add in violent demonstrators with a lot of support in the community and cover from prosecutors... it's going to get bad. I'm glad I don't live there.

The Dems are so screwed. No wonder they are desperate to put their opponent in prison. It's their only hope.

Let's all hope that the protests at the DNC in Chicago are as "mostly peaceful" as the BLM riots in 2020...

I am pasting this from The Scroll as to who is paying for the bail of arrested Pro-Hamas protesters/rioters

"The Tides Center is sponsoring the bail fund for those arrested during the nationwide “economic blockade” on April 15, which featured protesters blocking the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and the highway outside of Chicago O’Hare International Airport and waving Hezbollah flags in lower Manhattan. The Washington Free Beacon reports that the website for the protests, A15 Action, directs users to a “bail and legal defense fund” hosted through ActBlue, the Democratic Party’s online fundraising platform.

According to the ActBlue page, donations for the fund go to the Community Justice Exchange (CJE), which provides legal services to “community-based organizations … that contest the current operation and function of the criminal legal and immigration detention systems.”

CJE is a fiscally sponsored project of Tides, which, as we’ve reported, is a gargantuan dark-money clearinghouse funded by George Soros, Pierre Omidyar, Warren Buffett, and other progressive billionaires. Tides also fiscally sponsored Black Lives Matter from 2020 to 2022. "

I'm old enough (76) to remember the 1968 DNC very well. I watched it from Fort Bragg, NC with my comrades in the day-room of Company C, SFTG (ABN).

We found it extremely entertaining, including William F. Buckley threatening to punch out Gore Vidal to his face on camera. The 2024 DNC is likely to exceed 1968 for entertainment - and 1968 set a pretty high bar.

I'll leave it to the pundits to determine what the effects of all this will be on the election, but for viewer ratings it should be a bonanza for cable news. So make sure you're well stocked with snacks, have a comfortable chair, and enjoy the cirrcus.

Meanwhile, our Justice Department is keeping us safe from those legions of survivalist,neo-Nazis, Christian Nationalist, Alt-right, election-denying, Viking-horned, Bible-thumping, gun-toting, America-first MAGA domestic terrorists lurking in every dark corner of this country. Like Jack Finley I pray for the safety of Chicago’s finest.
